The Power Of Numbers

THE POWER OF NUMBERS

In Britain, You will seldom see the number 666 on a car licence plate because the number is associated with the devil. Also, you may not find a number thirtheen house in a street, a thirteenth floor in a hotel or thirteeenth row of seats on an aeroplane. Having thirteen guests at a party is very unlucky, and some people think thah traveling on Friday the 13th should be avoided.

People began studying numbers centuries ago, and the practice of assigning meaning o numbers was given the name ‘numerology’. Today are still people who study numbers to try to predict personality. They say every number is releted to a planet, and the numbers in a person’s birthdate connect them to a planet. Like astrology, numbers can perhaps tell us something about the character.

How does it work?

First, write down your birthday-the day. Month and year you were born. The day describes your outer personality, the mounth is your inner self and the year is your future. Where there is more than one figure, add them together to get a figure between 1 and 9.

Ø For example :

26 October 1988

Day = 8

Month = 1

Year = 8

Now find your planets below and the truth about your personality.

1. Sun : Srong, creative, outgoing

2. Moon : Imaginative, sensitive

3. Jupiter : Ambitious, positive

4. Uranus : Inteligent, scientific

5. Mercury : Good communicator, quick thinker

6. Venus : Romantic, passionate

7. Neptune : Impation, good learner

8. Saturn : Kind, understanding

Do You Believe Your Face Can Tell About Your Character and Personality

DO YOU BELIEVE YOUR FACE CAN TELL ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER AND PERSONALITY

It is really possible to tell people’s characters and personalities from their faces? The Chinese certainly think so. Two thousand years ago, the art of reading the face, Mian Xiang, was developed, and today Chinese women still tell their daughters that a man with a flat nose and small ears will be a shy and boring husband.

So how can they tell? Well, they say there are ten different types of faces. For example, a tringular face is a fire-face and a square face is wall-face. All ten types suggest different personalties and characters. But it is not only the shape of the face that is important. The nose, mouth, eyes, chin, and ears all hold extra information about a person.

How does Mian Xiang work? Here are some things to remember. Beautiful faces are not always the best; people with ugly faces may be luckier! People with jade-faces may have had difficult childhoods. This kind of face is diamond-shaped. The late Diana, Princess of wales, hade a jade-face.

Someone who has one eye a little larger than the other may have parents who are divorced, or they may have been unhappy children. A bigger left eye means that the person may be very charming. A bigger right eye suggsests the person might be a jealous type.

If a person’s ears are higher than their eyebrowns, he or she might me famous before the age of 30.

Three Games For Gold

Once upon a time, there was a young man called Jack who lived with his poor mother on a poor farm in a poor valley. One day, his mothe grew tired of Jack laziness and tolg him to go down to the town to get a job. So, she made him some sandwiches and gave him all the money she had left to buy a suit.

“Don’t go into that pub on the way,” she told him as he was leaving. So, Jack went into town to look for a job. After half an hour he passed by the pub. He thought to himself, “Well, a quick drink will do not harm, “ and so he went to the pub. One drink led to another.

He woke up at midnight in a field at the edge of town. He was penniless, and he had the worst hangover he could imagine. Feeling cold and sick, he decided to go home and face his angry mother.

He followed the river though the woods.The forest got thicker and darker and it was difficult for him to see. Suddenly, he heard music coming through the trees. It was sound of a violin. Jack followed the sound until he came to a cave. He slowly and carefully entered the cave, following the sound of the music.

As he entered the cave, Jack saw a fire ahead. On one side, to Jack’s delight, he saw a pile of gold coins. But to Jack’s horror, standing on the other side was the Devil himself, playing the violin.

“Welcome, Jack,”said the Devil. “I’ve been expecting you”. “why?” asked Jack nervously.

“Because all lazy boys end up dancing to my music,” said the Devil, grinning. “Here is my bargain. We will play three games of your choice. If you beat me at any game, this pile of gold coins is yours. If you lose, your soul is mine! Name your game…”.

Jack choose pker. He played well, but the Devil had all the best cards, and Jack soon lost. “You have two games left,” laughed the Devil, “Name your game…”.

This time, Jack choose dice. He played well again, but the Devil kept rolling three sixes, and Jack soon lost. “You have one game left,”laughed the Devil,”Name your game…”.

Jack thought quickly.

“Let’s play a game called copy-cat,” said Jack. ‘You have to copy what I do. If you can’t, you lose’.

‘What can you do that I can’t’? laughed the Devil. Jack smiled. He took off a shoe. He stuck his foot into the pile of gold coins, took out a coin between two toes and held it up to see. The Devil looked down at his hooves. He paused, then laughed.

‘Well done, Jack’, he said quietly. “The gold is yours,”. And with that, the Devil disappeared, leaving Jack with all gold. And that’s how Jack returned home arich man. His mother never believed how he got it!.

How To Make A Decision

HOW TO MAKE A DECISION

Some people are natural decision maker. And they always feel sure about their choises. You find this people in presidential places and corporate boardrooms. If you one of these people, congratulations!. If not, you probably find decision making difficult or even paintful. Here are a few ideas that might help you when it is time to make an important decision.

Ø Take a good care of yourself right now. Eat well, get enough sleep and exercise regularly. When you need to make a decision, you will feel better. If you feel better, you will think more clearly. If you can think clearly, decisions will come more easily.

Ø When it is time to make a decision, you will need to review all the possibilities. Sit down with a pen and some paper, and write all the possible choices you can make.

v For example, you don’t like your job, you might write :

I can keep my job and look for a job at the same time. I can quit my job and look for a new job.

After you finish your list, ‘If’ sentences with the different choices.

v For example above, we might have :

If I keep my job, I won’t have enough time to look for a new job. If I quit my job, I won’t have money.

With your ‘If’ sentences, you will see the problem more clearly.

Ø Before you make a final decision, get some help. Talk with three friends. Tell them your problem, and ask for their advice. If all three friends give you the same advice, the advice is probably good. If some of them give you a different advice, you should probably wait before you make a decision. Do some research. Talk with more people.

Ø Above all, don’t panic! If you stay calm, you’ll probably make the right decision. If you panic \, you might make a decision too quickly, and then you mignt be sorry.
